It’s time to grapple with "The Elephants in The Room". These are the questions that are too complex, too difficult, too sensitive, too uncomfortable to talk about in the open. Though it’s only when we confront what’s really going on, that we might co-create a way forward.

Join us Wednesday 8 to Friday 10 May at The School Leadership Conference 2024 and together, we’ll tackle education’s big issues.

What are the paradoxes and challenges school leaders need to consider? The day includes presentations by Dr Christopher Blundell, Senior Lecturer in the School of Teacher Education and Leadership at the Queensland University of Technology, and Associate Professor Jason Lodge, School of Education at the University of Queensland. The group will also tour the QUT Kelvin Grove and UQ St Lucia campuses.

For our young people to thrive in a complex world they need to understand and manage their emotions, be able to set and achieve important goals, understand and show empathy for others, establish and maintain positive respectful relationships, and make responsible decisions. Samford State School and Kedron State School will showcase their approaches to Social and Emotional Learning and how they are improving data by considering the whole child.
